Reverend Howard O. Jameson, Ph.D., "Doc", age 73, of Drexel Hill, PA graduated into Glory on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at his home.  He was the husband of Elsie M. Jameson, Ph.D. with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in New Hanover Twp., PA, he was a son of the late Howard Keith Jameson and Florence Jameson.

Reverend Howard Jameson attended Pottstown High School and graduated from Lincoln Prep in Philadelphia.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Communication, a Master of Arts degree in Speech Communication, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Speech Communication and Rhetoric  from Temple University.  He also received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Theology, a Master of Arts degree in Theology and a Doctor of Theology degree in the field of Systematic Theology with a concentration in Eschatology, from Grammling University.

At the early age of 6, Doc accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into his heart, and at the young age of 8, started preaching the Word of God at various local churches in Pottstown, PA.  As he continued with his education, he began preaching as a dynamic Gospel Tent Evangelist, and Pastored a small country church in Halltown, NJ.

Doc established the Jameson Evangelistic Association, Inc. in 1958 in New Jersey.  In 1962, he established Jameson Bible Institute, which expanded into Jameson Schools of Ministry, Theology, Christian College, Christian Academy and International Christian University, all of which continues on today.  The range of the above schools are worldwide  serving over 25 countries.

He was multi-lingual and established missions in Liberia, Africa,  Puerto Rico, Honduras, Haiti, India and the Dominican Republic.

The vision Doc started continues today through family, ministers(through the International Ministerial Fellowship), and students internationally.

Surviving in addition to his wife are:
   Three Sons -  Owen K. Jameson and his wife Karen of Boothwyn, PA

                         Dr. Timothy L. Jameson and his wife Carole of Blandon, PA

                         Rev. Byron L. Jameson, Ph.D. and his wife Becki of Upper Darby, PA

   Three Brothers - Jack Jameson and his wife Frances of Boyertown, PA

                             Ronald E. Jameson and his wife Susan of Boyertown, PA

                             Bruce L. Jameson and his wife Linda of Anniston, AL

   One Sister -   Doris Hee, widow of Charles Hee of Pottstown, PA

 

   Eight Grandchildren -  Jessica Geiger,  Jeremy, Scott, Christopher, Steven, David, Anne, Heather Jameson

   One Great Granddaughter -  Abigail Jameson

  

    And many nephews and nieces too numerous to list

 

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his funeral service, 11 a.m on Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464.  Reverend Byron L. Jameson will officiate.  Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown, PA.  A viewing will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jameson Evangelistic Association, Inc., P.O. A Memorial Service will be held at Pinn Memorial Baptist Church, 54th St. and Wynnefield Avenue, Phila., PA  in the next two weeks.  Definite date will be forthcoming by Thursday.
